The first of many YPW posts is finally here! YPW contains my personal hand-picked bunch of FREE events throughout the weekend around Miami.
It's Second Saturday on July 11! Many places around the city allow free access to the public on specific days each month. Keep reading and click on an event for more info to find out what YOU can do on this week's priceless weekend.
Saturday, July 11:
Plato's Closet Dollar Days:
All Day Event
London Square, 13630 SW 120th St, Miami, FL 33186
Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing for teens and twenty-something boys and girls. This Saturday, Kendall's very own Plato's Closet is having a huge blowout sale on ALL clearance items! $1 deals! Take this awesome opportunity because these don't occur every Saturday.
* Wynwood Art Walk & Miami Design District Art:
6PM - 10PM
Between N 36th Street and NE First Avenue
Both Wynwood and Miami Design District present art free to the public every second Saturday of the month. Join both if you've got the energy and make sure to hit up Wynwood's great food trucks to finish off a cultural night.
Bayfront Park Yoga:
9AM - 10:15AM
301 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132
Join certified yoga instructors as they take on Miami every Saturday for a free yoga session.
All participants must be at least 18 years old and will have to sign a waiver. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and the instructor will determine when the class is "full." Everyone must bring their own yoga mat, water, and towel.
*Perez Art Museum Miami:
1PM - 4PM

PAMM opens its doors to the public every second Saturday in the afternoon. A family-friendly event brings children and their parents together as they work towards completing creative, innovative arts and crafts projects.
Adrienne Arsht Center Tour:
12PM - 1PM
1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132
The Arsht Center, the largest performing arts center built in the United States in the last three decades, now offers free tours twice a week.
Tour the beautiful buildings and maybe catch a rehearsal or two of a broadway show if you're lucky! These tours are also available every Monday.
* HistoryMiami Family Funday:
10AM - 5PM
Miami-Dade Cultural Center, 101 West Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33130
Get your family together and celebrate Miami’s birthday! Enjoy a day of fun-filled activities with music, crafts, and more.
Bring your own family pictures and participate in their interactive scrapbooking station!
* Sensory Saturday @ Miami Children's Museum:
9AM - 11AM

This special event is set aside for children with sensory processing disorders. Join speech pathologist Laura Donovan as she creates a quiet environment and implements yoga, music, and other sensory experiences on the second Saturday of every month.

Doggie Luau:

Washington Dog Park, 201 2 Street
July is Parks and Recreation month! Take your dog out this weekend and join other Miami pups this Sunday at the cutest event yet -- located in Miami Beach! Doggie pool, giveaways, photo booth and great music.
UPDATE: Miami-Dade Animal Services will be present at the luau for the first time, so if you don't have a pooch of your own or you'd like a new friend for your dog, you can surely adopt and spend your first day with your new companion having fun in the sun! Baptist Health members teach yoga at the Pinecrest Community Center on Sundays, free of charge! Find your center, relax, and get ready for another busy week with the help of some soothing yoga.

Thanks for sharing all these great events. We'll be going to the Miami Family Fun day and take part of the interactive scrapbooking station... next month.
